ST ANDREW’S CHILTON KINDERGARTEN
Welcome to St Andrew’s Chilton Kindergarten – we hope you find our website informative and helpful, and we look forward to welcoming you to our kindy home.
St Andrew’s Chilton Kindergarten is located behind the Howick Presbyterian Church at 11 Vincent Street, Howick.
Our building is modern and the various areas set up within the kindergarten encourage children to explore. Our new playground, completed in December 2017, is comprised of natural wood features and equipment offering different adventures, a lillipad swing and a double slide within a fort. There is also a little seat with ponga logs surrounding it where children can sit and read, or they can ride a bike around the bike path complete with rumble strips! The playground was designed to incorporate a stimulating, challenging and age appropriate environment with safety as a first consideration, followed by fun! You are invited to contact us via the contacts page on our website or call us on 09 537 2282 and we will be happy to help you.
We are a Christian based kindergarten where providing early childhood care and education for our children is our primary aim.
St Andrew’s Chilton Kindergarten offers the 20 hours ECE funded option to families. This legislation is managed by the Ministry of Education and the Government so is subject to change. We have regular newsletters to families informing them of any relevant changes, and also updates of trips, special kindergarten events or activities and any other news or information.
We have a dedicated team of fully qualified staff who are committed to providing a first class learning experience for your child.
TIMES OF ENROLMENTS
We are open Monday and Friday mornings from 9.00am to 1.15pm. Full day services are offered on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday where we operate from 9.00am to 3.30pm. Please feel free to discuss your preferred options with our staff for times of enrolment.
The kindergarten closes for all of the school holidays, and we do attempt to have opening and closing dates at the beginning and end of each year that are close to those of the local schools.
You will also be provided with an information sheet which details what children need to bring to kindy, where to put their lunchboxes and drink bottles, a brief outline of a daily timetable, and lots of other useful information to make transition into kindy life a positive experience. There will be some documentation required to complete the enrolment process which is generally a birth certificate or passport and immunisation records. Our team will assist you to ensure all Ministry of Education or other agency requirements are met.
Upon enrolment, we invite and encourage you to bring your child into our kindergarten for visits and this also allows our teachers a chance to get to know your child and how they can best be supported.
